🔒 What family notifications contain
A notification carries only the display name of the family member and the names of up to three items. They go to the other members of that list, never to anyone else, and you are never notified about your own changes. Read the privacy policy

Two kinds: a heads-up when a member starts ticking items off ("Anna is shopping"), and one summary when members add items, sent about a minute after the last addition and naming up to three items. Turn either off in Side menu → Reminder settings → Family list.
Yes. You can tick, add, delete and clear items with no signal. The changes are kept on your phone and sent as soon as you are back online, so nothing is lost.
List Owl detects the clash instead of quietly overwriting. The later change is kept and a message tells you which item changed. Clearing the list only removes the items you could see when you tapped.
Yes, anytime. Open Family Sharing and tap Leave — your own lists stay exactly as they were. Owners can also remove members.
Yes. Mixed households are fine: the shared list, notifications and QR invites all work the same on both.
